Seasonal Art Workshops

Irregular dates

At Hop Step ART!, we offer seasonal art workshops in addition to our regular weekly classes.

These workshops are mainly held during school holidays, especially in summer, and are designed for elementary and junior high school students.

Each workshop is a small-group, immersive art experience,
where we place great value on the time children spend fully absorbed in making.
This is not about rushing to finish a project.  It’s about slowing down, exploring deeply, and enjoying the creative process itself.

Hop Step ART!'s signature activity: The Painting Party

Every workshop begins with one of Hop Step ART!’s signature experiences — the Painting Party.

Large sheets of paper fill the space.
Jars of colorful paint are placed all around.
Children move their hands freely, choosing colors, making marks, and painting together.
There is no right answer.  No fixed goal.  It’s a joyful, open-ended moment — truly a party of color and movement.

As their bodies relax and their minds open, children begin to feel safe to explore:
“It’s okay to draw.”
“It’s okay to make mistakes.”

From this shared experience, each child then moves on to the main activity.

Art Experiences You Can Only Enjoy Here

Workshop themes change every year.  They may include painting, sculpture, material exploration, or story-based artmaking — always offering something unique and only available at that moment.

Workshops are led by a working artist, who carefully design each session to spark ideas naturally.  Through thoughtful prompts, materials, and spatial design, we create gentle “openings” for imagination to grow.

Our goal is not to make something perfect.

Thinking.
Trying.
Making mistakes.
Discovering.

All of these are essential — and meaningful — parts of a child’s creative journey.

How Workshops Differ from Regular Classes

  • Special themes not offered in our regular classes

  • One-time sessions, easy to join while traveling or visiting

  • A non-everyday, immersive introduction starting with the Painting Party

  • Memorable projects that gently challenge and inspire

We hope that the time spent here becomes a child’s first true feeling of: “Art is fun.”

Future workshop dates will be announced on Instagram.
